Blue Leaf nurtures each child’s
intellectual, social and physical development.

Our philosophy embraces the natural curiosity and imagination of children to inspire within them a lifelong adventure of learning.

Our approach to early childhood education is a balanced approach, combining many different theories while using a child-led curriculum. Young children and their caregivers explore, question, and discover in a stimulating RIE inspired environment.

Blue Leaf is everything we could have asked for – a beautiful, clean and safe indoor space with enriching toys and books, a spectacular garden where the kids spend most of their time exploring, healthy warm meals, and the most amazing and thoughtful caregivers. I have to admit to being relatively uninformed about RIE when we started, but it has done wonders for our kids. I could not recommend Blue Leaf more. Your kids (and you!) will thrive!

Blue Leaf School believes that a diverse and inclusive community strengthens every child’s learning experience.

A learning environment rooted in equity begins with a deep respect for the unique identities, histories, and voices that each child and family brings.

We intentionally reflect the lived experiences of our community through our curriculum, classroom materials, and documentation practices. Our goal is not only to represent diversity but to build a culture of belonging where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.

Young children are capable of engaging meaningfully with questions of fairness, identity, and justice. Through thoughtful guidance and responsive teaching, we create space for honest conversations around race, ethnicity, gender, ability, and differences. These conversations emerge naturally from children’s questions and interactions.

We learn with and from families, recognizing that strong partnerships strengthen our understanding of each child’s world. We draw from diverse resources and reflective practices to challenge bias, expand perspectives, and nurture empathy across our community.

At its heart, our anti-bias and anti-racist work is about honoring humanity, centering equity, compassion, and mutual care in everything we do.
